Mountain Cat Refuge & Beautiful Vista

Mountain Cat Refuge & Beautiful Vista

As part of this month’s Nandan Vijiana Challenge, we have receive the third installment of some of the wonders and  beauty of Italy.

Our tour guide Annie writes us:

Such a sweet, sweet moment on our hike today (Fri, 5/11): a refuge for feral cats and directions for caring for them up on the mountain path to Monterosso…

After showing a “mug shot” photo of each of the four cats, the sign reads:

Could you please cuddle the cats!!!!!

Could you also give them the food that you will find in the bin, but only in the morning, because with the heat the food goes off and becomes harmful to the cats.

Thank you.

Cinque Terre Vista

Annie writes us:

Tonight (Sat, 5/12) we say goodnight to the Cinque Terre

The Cinque Terre (meaning “Five Lands”) is a rugged portion of coast on the Italian Riviera. It is in the Liguria region of Italy, to the west of the city of La Spezia, and comprises five villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. The coastline, the five villages, and the surrounding hillsides are all part of the Cinque Terre National Park and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Over the centuries, people have carefully built terraces on the rugged, steep landscape right up to the cliffs that overlook the sea. Part of its charm is the lack of visible corporate development. Paths, trains and boats connect the villages, and cars cannot reach them from the outside. (Courtesy of Wikipedia)
