Kaleifornia Smoothie

Ok – I think we may be getting a little spoiled here. First Cheryl did this on June 5. And then on June 12, we were beneficiaries of the following:

Kaleifornia Smoothie
– 1.5 cups of sweetened vanilla, coconut, or almond milk
– 1 cup fresh / frozen blueberries
– 1 banana broken into chunks
– 1 cup, Safeway Farms Lacinato / Tuscan Kale, firmly packed
– 6 ice cubes

Put all ingredients into a blender in the order listed and blend until smooth.

Makes 2, 16 oz servings.

Recipe developed by cookbook author Marianne Sarosky Gray

Green Tea Smoothie
– 3 cups frozen white grapes
– 2 packed cups of baby spinach and one 6-ounce package of baby kale
– 1.5 cups of strong brewed green tea, cooled
– 1 medium ripe avocado
– 2 teaspoons of honey

Hot tip: If you add a few extra grapes you get the creaminess of the avocado yet more sweetness of the grapes.

Combine grapes, spinach, green tea, avocado and honey in a blender and blend until smooth. Serve immediately.
