Overview:

Fasting is as old as the hills. Yogis have been using fasting as a tool for physical rejuvenation, psychic clarity, and spiritual realization for thousands of years. It is a time-tested technique that is the perfect antidote for today’s fast-paced world where technological achievement is only outpaced by our societal tendencies to undermine our own health.

The benefits of fasting are both numerous and great: cellular regeneration, a reboot of your digestive system, detoxification, disease prevention, heightened mental prowess, and so much more. That is why more and more are turning towards this practice to revitalize themselves. Indeed, this is a method that is readily accessible to one and all.

But let’s get real here: Fasting is about doing it. Suppose a person knows all about the benefits of yoga, but never rolls out their mat. In that case their knowledge has very little value as they will suffer the ill-effects of not practicing. Similarly, being familiar with fasting but not doing it fails to produce any of the benefits. So this course is a way to jumpstart the practice of fasting for those who have some background in the field, and it will also empower people completely new to the practice to be able to fast & break fast on their own.

And what better time to do this than on the eve of the summer solstice which is a great time to recharge and renew. Even more fortuitous is that the solstice is quickly followed by ekadashii, the main date for yogic fasting.

A special aspect of this course will be a presentation by Larc Jaycobs who has a varied and in-depth background in healthy living practices, and just recently completed a 21-day fast at the True North Health Center. Larc will openly share her experience and field any questions you may have.

So this is really going to be a jam-packed session where we both inspire and put rubber to the road wherein everyone feels motivated and empowered to embrace this great life practice.

Kindly find Larc’s extended bio appended at the bottom of this page.
