My story: This past week I was in a real jam. My archival audio cassette got stuck inside an old Sony dual cassette deck and the cassette door would not open. At the time I was in process of digitizing the cassette. So now instead of safeguarding it on a more permanent platform, the original material was in a compromised position. I called around and was fortunate to come across Jhingo TV repair. We spoke a few times on the phone and then on Thursday I stopped by their home office. Patrick greeted me and welcomed me in his basement, residential office. There were large screen TV’s all around in various states of repair, and I immediately felt like I was in good hands. Within a matter of minutes – without using any tools, just using his hands to rotate the flywheel etc – Patrick had the cassette out of the machine in perfect condition. And that was all I really wanted: To retrieve the cassette. I was fed-up with the machine and did not even want to see it again. However, Patrick did not consider the job done. Step by step, he diagnosed the problem, showed me how the belts has been stretched and / or cut, and had top-quality, original Japanese replacement belts in stock. Both decks of the machine now play like new, and I have since digitized my cherished audio cassette.
