Do Less Challenge: Jan ’23

An alternate to taking it all on is to consider, evaluate, and prioritize
as we enter the New Year…

Are you charging headlong into the New Year ready to fill your plate with tons of new endeavors, while still catching up on the end of ’22? Well, welcome to the Do Less Challenge of January ’23…

…Here “less” does not literally mean “less”, per se. Nor does it mean “nothing”. It means taking a clear-minded approach to what we plan to take on, and keenly looking at what we plan to carry forward. So doing “less” means calmly sifting through life: keeping those valuable things of old, letting go of that which no longer serves us, embracing new plans that lead to refinement, and passing on options that may unnecessarily weight us down, clogging up space and time.

The yogis say the best way to speed ahead is to pause first. Thus, as we enter into 2023, let’s give ourselves the presence of mind to see what is most vital to our progress. The temptation of course is to rush into all those resolutions and “to do” lists, leaving little space for reflection. So let’s try and keep things light, taking a measured approach, fully investing ourselves in that which we find most valuable, and realizing the tenet that sometimes “doing less” actually means “doing more” – more of that which nurtures us and allows us to grow.

Here’s to a healthy, happy, and meaningfully productive start to the year!!

Let us know what you will be doing less of, as well as how that enables you to do more.

  1. Just watched a beautiful sunrise, all pink and purple-blue. I can feel how this settles my mind for the coming day.
