Vegetarian Potluck: Fri, May 10, 6p – 8:30p
Our 2nd Annual
Vegetarian Potluck
Friday, May 10, 6p – 8:30p
Galesville Memorial Hall
All Are Welcome ~ Free Event
We are very pleased to announce our 2nd annual Renaissance Yoga vegetarian potluck on Friday evening May 10, from 6p – 8:30p at Galesville Memorial Hall. All are invited: Yoga practitioners, spouses, friends, neighbors, kids, cousins – ALL.
~ Update Apr 29: A new local vendor of delicious tidings, SoCo Pops, will be on hand with free samples of their mouth-watering pops – a great thing to know about with summer approaching. ~
Last year we had a great turnout of 40+ and an incredible spread of delicious dishes. We look forward to another grand occasion this year! Come be part of it. No experience necessary – just be yourself and join in!
Getting Together & Meeting: This potluck is a time for us all to get together “off the mat” and share life’s tales, meet new people, and be part of our growing community in this wonderful way.
RSVP: To best organize this joyous and sumptuous gathering, kindly respond in the comment section below. 1. Write your name; and, 2. What you plan to bring (more about this below).
By scanning the various comments we will organically organize our feast!
What to Bring: You are requested to bring any vegetarian dish of your choosing: Appetizer, main dish, salad, dessert, or beverage. (Note: No alcohol please.)
Going Green: To make this a green event, please bring your own place setting: Plate, bowl and utensils. Consider bringing containers just in case there is extra to take home.
What is Vegetarian: One question that may arise is what is meant by vegetarian. Well for this occasion we will use the lacto-vegetarian model. That means all kinds of grains, pastas, legumes (beans), nuts, fruits, vegetables, and dairy products. So there is lots to choose from. You may follow a recipe or use your own innate talents. Kindly refrain from using any eggs or meat or fish of any kind.
Ingredient Flags: Please include a list of ingredients that you used to prepare your dish, including what spices you used. This has multiple benefits. That way we can all learn about new ways of preparing food as well as what things to shop for, and those with allergies can easily know what dishes they can eat.
Participation, Participation, Participation: Your participation in this event – and it is an event(!) – is highly valued. This is a time to see old friends and meet new ones, a gathering to socialize and share, and so much more. More than any dish, your presence is the main ingredient that will make this successful. Look forward to seeing you there!
Yes, I Am Coming: Ok great – so you will be attending. Now just write your name in the comment section and tell us what you might like to bring. Find the comment box below and type away!
This is a casual affair – come when you can – drop in anytime – all are encouraged to arrive at 6p to get things going!!
We will be there and bringing a quinoa dish (wheat and dairy free)
I just wanted to add that I’m pretty sure my sister and mom will be there with me 🙂 So, that makes 4 adults and 2 kids! We will be bringing an extra dish (just not sure what yet…).
Last minute changes…. we will be bringing jalapeno poppers (gluten free) and bean salad.
Looking forward to it! I’ll be bringing gluten free, vegan Chocolate Zucchini Walnut Cake.
This was amazing! Can I have the recipe? 🙂
Sorry, just looked at the recipe. No chocolate. Maybe I’ll make a chocolate icing…..
Kirk and I and possibly a few chips off the old blocks as well will joyfully attend. Will be bringing a yet to be determined dessert and, and quinoa corn cakes. So sorry I missed the first and so happy to be coming to the 2nd. Let us know how we can help – setting or cleaning up!
Reza, Amelia, and I are planning to attend. I’ll bring a vegan main dish, I don’t know what yet but likely a soup. I may also bring a vegan chocolate mousse.
Tim and I will attend and will bring a yummy lentil salad and a beverage to share.
We’ll attend and will bring a hummus appetizer w/raw veggies & non-GMO tortilla chips, and marinated appetizer w/olives, peppers, mushrooms. Looking forward to it!
I’ll bring the eggplant involtinis. (Grilled eggplant slices rolled around rice and mushrooms in a tomato sauce).
I’ll be there and I’ll bring something yummy.
I Will Attend And Will Bring A Fresh Fruit Salad~
I’ll definately be there, not sure what I’m bringing but it will be yummy!
Brad, Lyla, Charlie and I wouldn’t miss it! I’m not sure what we’ll bring yet – we can’t wait!
Hey Katy – I wish we could be there too! Have fun!
Hi Sara – we also wish you could be there – this annual tradition started with your grand arrival to South County!! – Satyam
Tim and I will come and bring a main dish, mujaddara, a chickpea and lentil rice dish.
Gordon and I will bring roasted sweet potatoes.
I suppose I should chime in at this point…both my mom and I will be there.
Mom will be bringing her famed veg chili, and I was going to bring a baked Greek eggplant dish, but I see some eggplant already so I will continue to monitor things and adjust accordingly. Yoga is all about adjustments after all(!)
That said, in addition, I shall be providing both hot and cold beverages…i.e. juices and teas.
Satyam
John, Isabel & I will be there. I’ll bring a spicy blackeye pea dish and at least one other dish, either a squash/tomato/onion gratin or spinach/rice/garlic casserole.
John and I are planning to attend. We will bring a big bowl of garden lettuce and cauliflower/potato curry.
My son Morgan and I will be there! We will bring Hummus, pita and some fruit
We will be there in spirit. I see that the picture from last year shows tiny Petra under the table. We really enjoyed meeting everyone last year and appreciated how welcoming folks were to us and to our dog.
Frannie and hopefully Chris will attend…and bring another big bowl of salad greens and a fruity vegan dessert, perhaps with Sharon’s blueberries!
Satyam, I am also bringing roasted asparagus with garlic.
Quite last minute, but I will be there (getting a ride with Paula and Tim)…I will bring my famous Waldorf Salad! Apples, Celery, Walnuts and Raisins with a little Mayo. I will be sure to bring my plate and fork too! Lots of great looking offerings on the list so far. CPM
