Tree Pose at the Arctic Henge

Tree Pose at the Arctic Henge

Our yogi sailors extraordinaires have reached the northern part of Iceland – home of the Arctic Henge.

Candy writes us:

Visiting the Arctic Henge construction site which is north of the most northerly town in Iceland, Raufarhofn, right on the Arctic Circle. I asked David to take my photo near the arch that faces north and he said, “do Tree Pose” so naturally I did! (that is off-shore fog in the distance behind me). I am including another photo of the whole site as it looks now (2016) and a shot showing a model of their ambitious plans for the future… While this henge isn’t old, it certainly feels like there is energy concentrated there. It must be magical during the summer solstice…I wish the builders will have lots of good working days in the years to come!

More About the Arctic Henge

Set in Raufarhöfn, one of the most remote and northernmost villages in Iceland where the Arctic Circle lies just off the coast, the Arctic Henge (Heimskautsgerðið) is under construction. Similar to its ancient predecessor, Stonehenge, the Arctic Henge is like a huge sundial, aiming to capture the sunrays, cast shadows in precise locations and capture the light between aligned gateways.
