Travel Diary: Annie in Oregon

One Yogini’s Venture to the Pacific Northwest

Looks like Annie caught some great weather during her trip to Oregon this week – below are a few of Annie’s photos, comments, and revelations…

First, during her time along the Columbia River Gorge, Annie writes:

This place is astounding…feels like we have found Middle Earth.

After leaving the Gorge, at some point Annie made it up to Mt. St. Helens:

Oregon is AMAZING!…This is in the hummocks field at Mt. St. Helen’s which just blew me away. We hiked close enough to the summit to see the steam coming out of the crater! This  poor dead tree is stuck in about 150 foot  deep pile of new hills.

“Do rocks count as props?”

Even while away, Anne keeps special tabs on RenYoga life. So in response to the recent announcement of the Yoga Prop Challenge for the month of April, Annie sends the below photo and writes:

Do rocks count as props?

Thereafter she describes how she is passing her days on the Oregon coast.

Today [Sat April 2] we saw whales, sea urchins by the thousands, sea anemones, sea stars, sea lions…this is just gorgeous…and the whole coastline is public property! Tomorrow we head to hike more of the rainforest…see you Wednesday!

For more about Annie’s epic travels, stay tuned, or just ask her in class, I am sure she’d be glad to tell you more…

  1. Thank You, Annie, for sharing images of Oregon’s majesty along the Columbia River and at Mt. St. Helen’s. Even before I saw your caption about “rock props,” I mused how the good photo of you on the sideways buried tree reminded me of the comfy purple bricks and rolled-up mat Satyam placed under me during yoga a couple of Saturdays ago! That tree would be quite the prop, though. Not nearly as comfy.
Fun to see how you practice yoga during your travels. Inspiring.
