Stay-At-Home Yoga #1: Staying Strong

Stay-At-Home Yoga #1: Staying Strong

Podcast: 44 min 20 sec

Here is an at-home practice that is suitable for most everyone….

The Podcast / Practice

Welcome to quarantine yoga!! Here’s the plan. Yesterday I quickly noted down a sequence (see document below) and recorded the practice straight through without any edits etc. Try it out and see what you think. If you all are good with this, I should be able to make plenty during this time of quarantine!! Requests are welcomed!!

Sequence: Here below is the sequence noted down prior to recording; that said, I did take the liberty to improv a bit during the recording.

seated breathing / oyster / seated backbend / seated side bend / dandhasana (staff pose) / seated forward fold / seated twist / glut stretch / IT band stretch / table / balancing table / hand to foot / forearm side stand / mini pyramid / low lunge / wide angle child / downward dog / warrior 1 / extended side angle / reverse warrior 2 / triangle / revolved wide angle fold / downdog / plank / dolphin plank / sphinx / makarasana (quad stretch) / cobra pose / child / supine rolls / bound bridge / utksepa mudra / personal time / shavasana / meditation

About the Title: “Staying Strong” denotes that we should all keep fit and active, and at-ease mentally, during this unusual period.

From Brain to Paper

(in a quick minute or so I jotted this down…not very impressive….I know…)

  1. Alright!!! THANK YOU!!! This has a much better chance of keeping us on track than my do-it-yourself plan!!!

However, do NOT feel you have to make an abs or blocks version 😂

  2. Thank you so much for this. It worked out well. I’m looking forward to more!

Didn’t you tell me a couple of years ago that there are some full class podcasts available on your site? If that’s correct, you could remind us where we can find them. Recycling works!

  3. I pulled up the 20 minute yoga warm up one today after working in the yard all day…it was perfect. I think a lot of folks might appreciate it if you repost that one.

  4. Thank you, Satyam, just what I needed. So great to hear your voice too!
    Annie’s cousin in Atlanta, Lisa

    1. Hey there Lisa – so great to have you check-in!!

Wonderful hearing from you and all my very best wishes!!

      Namaskar….

  5. I cant thank you enuf for all these sessions! I’ve tried to practice on my own and at another studio, with not too good of result🤦‍♀️. My body aches from not getting what it needs. Oh, also, Finn has been right by my side, 9 am, 3 days a week. I think he likes your soothing voice. He sleeps in kennel the whole hour!!! Looking forward to getting my body back to where it was when I left Maryland. I hope you know how grateful I am to you for taking the time to make these awesome practices available to all. 🙏 Tina

    1. You are most most welcome Tina! That’s what these practices are for and if they are helpful then that is the best news.

I have enjoyed making them and will continue to fill the airwaves – and also increase the sound quality with the help of new gadgets!!

So glad you and Finn are able to practice together!!

You are very much missed around here and I look forward to when you swing by these parts at some point.

      Till then – stay well!!!

  6. Just finished Stay at Home Yoga #1 podcast. Wow! Did I ever need that, thanks. Been at home since March 16th, keeping busy with projects and cardio (not enough yoga). Today was feeling very anxious, not now.

    Thanks for the podcasts.
