Special Mudras by Baby Luke

contemplative_yogiHere is Luke doing his morning practice of hand mudras (gestures) – of which he has become quite adept.

As many of you may know, Luke is the son of Kate, our new Tuesday evening teacher.

More About Mudras:

Mudras are hand positions that serve as an external expression of an internal idea. Mudras are a big part of yoga, spiritual life, and oriental dance. In total, there are 50,000 mudras. One subset of mudras strengthens muscles and nerves. The larger aspect of mudras are meant to express sublte ideas through hand positioning.
