About the Challenge

For the month of April 2018 we shall engage in The Shoulder Challenge. This is a time to gain a better understanding of how the shoulders work, as well as how we can best stretch and strengthen them.

Throughout the month we will release (a) podcasts, including one appended below, and (b) videos for home practice. And we will explore poses in our classes as well.

Podcast – Gentle Shoulder Stretches

Here to begin is a short podcast that offers a quick overview (1 min 19 sec) followed by a simple, introductory practice (4 min 27 sec).

As the month progresses, we shall share more involved, deeper practices as well as poses to strengthen the shoulders, and perhaps a few arm balances as well that rely heavily on the shoulders.
