Interested in going deeper in your yoga practice? Want to gain a better grasp of terms used in class? Then this seminar is the one for you. We will examine the Sanskrit language through the eyes and heart of the yogi.
The ancient Sanskrit language is very scientific and extremely unique. It has been termed, “the mother of all languages” by some scholars. And with the great spread of yoga, its relevance is only growing. Just in the last few years, various Sanskrit terms have been incorporated into the English language. And indeed there is a grand etymological link between Sanskrit and English.
Simply put, Sanskrit is the language of yoga. Just as the Inuit language of the Eskimos is unparalleled in its ability to accurate depict the qualities of snow, similarly Sanskrit stands uncontested in its stance to reflect the ways of yoga. From basic postures to sublime ideals, Sanskrit imbibes the spirit and joy of yoga.
This seminar is a time for you to become more familiar with this grand language through story, discussion, practice, and analysis. We will share, chant, and delve deeper into the rich heritage of the Sanskrit language and its inherent link with the practice of yoga.
Note: This seminar is for absolutely anyone – practitioners, seekers of knowledge, friends of the earth, yoga teachers, all comers are welcome.
