Outdoor Yoga Photos: Aug 2014
Had a wonderful outing of Outdoor Yoga the other evening – Thursday Aug 21. There were threats of thunderstorms throughout the week, but we got a wonderful window for our evening practcie – thanks once again to Mother Nature!!
Here are just a few shots from the gathering. First is utksepa mudra on the lawn – a great way to cleanse and purify.
Next, everyone is reaching for the sky in setu bandhasana (variation), i.e. bound bridge pose…
Here is Coni nailing a sublime shoulderstand split.
This boy is a real dynamo. First he paddles to class in his canoe / kayak and then during the “free time” period at the end he casually pulls off an array of inversions….
And yes at the end we had an extended deep relaxation / meditative experience – a time to withdraw the mind from external pabulum and delve deeper within. This is perhaps the most important aspect of our practice: To cultivate a sense of peace and tranquillity. Our Outdoor Yoga sessions seem help in that process. Join us for the next gathering on Thursday, Sep 18, 2014.
