My Veggie Challenge This Thanksgiving
Veggie Challenge on Thanksgiving
Check out this pre-historic looking cruciferous vegetable….
Today is purnima – the full moon – so it is a fasting day according to the yogic system. Tomorrow morning I shall break fast in the usual manner to get a proper cleansing of the system and then at some point I shall partake in preparing – and eating this dinosaur-age looking vegetable which was gifted to me (thanks Jean!)…
This vegetable does have an official name, though it escapes me at the moment. However, I believe it does come from the cruciferous family and resembles a cone-shaped mix between broccoli and cauliflower.
It certainly looks good and I shall let you know more about it after eating it on Thanksgiving Day!!
It is a Romenesca Broccoli, originating in Italy. Its taste is close to the cauliflower, a cousin to the Broccoli family. Tastes like a mild, nutty cauliflower.
It’s almost too pretty to eat!
Thanks Jean – good info and a welcomed gift – thank you again!!!
Nice fractals!! And yum!
🙂
