Tell us your stories of mother’s day and what lies ahead for you…

Yogis have great things to say about motherhood. It is then that one’s I-feeling no longer refers to just oneself; a mother’s concern is greater for her offspring. That becomes her “I”. It is a magnificent tale of love and sacrifice. It is in those early years – before the first words are spoken – that one’s personality is formed.

Here are thoughts from some other noted personalities:

“All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel Mother.”
— Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865)

“My mother was the most beautiful woman I ever saw. All I am I owe to my mother. I attribute all my success in life to the moral, intellectual and physical education I received from her.”
— George Washington (1732-1799)

“The mother’s heart is the child’s schoolroom.”
— Henry Ward Beecher (1813-1887)

“A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials, heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine, desert us when troubles thicken around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.”
— Washington Irving (1783-1859)
