Local Biz: Jason duCellier Photography

Jason DucellierIn our digital society, taking a picture is e-z as 1-2-3; and, there is a time and place for that. Yet, we all recognize the value and inherent beauty of photography as an art form.

In the words of the great Ansel Adams: “You don’t make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.”

It is the totality of one’s human experience combined with great technical aptitude. Photography is a passion.

Meet Jason duCellier Photography of Edgewater (MD).

I had the good fortune to come in contact with Jason recently, and by his manner and approach, it is quite evident that photography is Jason’s passion.

He has the eye, the patience & demeanor, the angle, the technology, as well as the insight to get the right shot. And his passion is to tell a story through photography.

Photo-documentary is a speciality of his.

In addition to being a professional photographer, he is also a local citizen, rooted to our local community. Ten days ago on Halloween, I was in need of a photographer, and Jason was gracious enough to come out and shoot our Halloween gathering.

What an incredible job he did!! He shot 1400 photos in an hour, narrowed them down to 800 and then again down to 250, which he handed over to me. So I got to select from among the best – with the offer that Jason will then go back and fine-tune final sections. I really felt like he put his whole heart and mind into the project – and that became all the more apparent when speaking with him. He loves to capture life – without anyone noticing it!

Whether you are looking for a photographer for a particular assignment, or simply wish to check out some wonderful work, here is Jason’s on-line portfolio. Always nice to know what great resources we have in our own local community.

A few words from Jason himself:

While my obsession is HDR (High Dynamic Range) pictures, I simply love to find the right perspective on every photo – perspective is what takes a plain picture and makes it immortal.  I spend time talking to my clients, understanding what moves them, and I make their perspective my own.  If you are interested in a unique photographic experience – whether it may be family pictures or even a walk-down-memory-lane for a family member – please contact me for a free phone consultation.
