The keto diet has become popular in certain circles, though not without controversy. In short, the keto diet puts the body in a state of emergency known as ketosis, so while in very limited cases it may have short-term applications to treat particular medical conditions such as seizures, it is not sustainable for one’s long-term health as one’s regular day-to-day diet.
Here I share with you a podcast from PCRM (Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine) out of Washington DC. The podcast is comprised of two separate interviews with their medical professionals wherein they go over the facts and figures of the keto regime. It is a science-based discussion (with some cutesy humor I could do without), but it is good info and for this reason I pass it along.
