In Memoriam: Debi Olshaw

Here we remember and pay respects to our dear friend Debi Olshaw who passed away Tuesday, Feb 7, 2017. I had the pleasant opportunity to meet and speak with Debi a few times at our yoga classes and also at a surprise party for her sister Coni Giannini, who is a longtime and active participant in our classes. The last few years Debi was battling cancer, and as difficult and as hard as it was, her death came unexpectedly. May we all take solace in that she is now resting in peace.

The Gianninis (Coni, Bob, Mara, Tessa, & Neva) have been the bedrock of the RenYoga community for over a decade. They have offered great support and friendship to many over the years. And I know a number of you have been walking stride for stride with them over the last few days – at class, at home, and at the visitation and memorial service. At the same time I think Coni wished for all of you to know about her sister’s passing. After the Saturday morning class, we did take time to remember Debi’s life.

Naturally, Coni and family have been very involved this past week, and we have missed their clockwork-like presence, though we were fortunate to have them around a little. We look forward to warmly welcoming them to their regular yoga routine when both time and circumstances are right. Our very best wishes during this difficult period to the entire Olshaw-Giannini family.
