Grand Saturday Sunrise & Summit

You knew the day was going to be a good one – it just had to be. Here is the scene through my front windshield as I was driving to class on Saturday morning (1/17/15). It was a tunnel of sunshine straightaway down Galesville Road culminating with one grand fireball on the horizon.

And class was a a grand one as so many came out and participated. Morning Yoga featured 22 of our veteran yogis and yoginis and I think we had double digits for abs as well which was nice to see. Both classes have been well-attended since 2015 rolled in and that always brings a certain level of energy and good-feeling. Each person on the mat brings their own set of unique talents and good cheer.

After their yoga practice and core workout, some of our attendees took to the hills. Specifically Annie and Kirk went for a winter hike.

Annie writes us: So here we are after conquering our own Khumbu ice fall and summiting the King and Queen seat at Rocks State Park! Trails and rocks very icy – a ‘cool’ day!

(Note: The “other” Khumbu ice fall is a famed passageway of Mt. Everest)

Annie's Hike

Thanks Annie and Kirk for sharing the highlights with us. I am sure it was a lot of work, and it is nice that the rest of us get to at least join in on the victory with you!

Although, Annie did not explicitly say this was part of their Vishvasa Challenge, we shall chalk it up as such – after all who can forget what Sharon did as part of her challenge…

All in all this Saturday went from a scintillating sunrise to a staggering summit!!
